The strains of harmony carry on the sultry breeze of a late summer day outside of Kalona, Iowa. Hidden among tall, lush trees and centered in a natural amphitheater, it’s no wonder that folks across the Midwest gather for three days of music and relaxation at the Kalona Gospel Sing. For those with RVs and campers, it’s a simple park and camp on the grounds; for those who prefer hotels, there are comfortable options nearby.
There is no admission charge for the sing. Love offerings will be received and divided among the participating groups. The line-up features the exciting harmonies of quartets, trios, duets, and family groups—all who highlight the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When you add in some of the best homemade pretzels you’ve ever tasted, it’s the ingredients for a weekend you don’t want to miss. What are you waiting for?
The sing is located at the Windmill Ridge Campgrounds, and it’s an absolutely beautiful place for a Gospel sing. It has a natural outdoor amphitheater feel to it. There are plenty of camping spots for both modern and primitive camping. Evenings are normally perfect times to hear the music ringing in the trees and echoing across the whole campground. To be able to camp and listen to the very best in Gospel music makes it an unforgettable experience. There is no permanent seating available, so be sure and bring your lawn chairs and pick your favorite spot on the hillside surrounding the stage.
